Does Away LifetimeCare™ cover airline damage? 

Yes. Away LifetimeCare covers airline mishandling when it results in functional damage to your suitcase. 

 

Because airlines are responsible for damage that occurs while your bag is in their care, we recommend filing a claim with the airline first. If the airline isn’t able to resolve the issue, our LifetimeCare specialists will help determine the best repair or replacement option to get your suitcase back on the road.

How much do repairs or replacements cost?

All eligible luggage repairs and replacements are complimentary for the first 5 years under our limited warranty (or 10 years with LifetimeCare Pro).

 

After that, repair support continues for the life of your suitcase. If your suitcase needs a repair, our LifetimeCare specialists will guide you to the best option and confirm any applicable service fee in advance so there are no surprises. Round-trip shipping remains on us.

Is LifetimeCare™ Pro right for me?

Every Away suitcase comes with LifetimeCare Coverage. LifetimeCare Pro extends our limited warranty for travelers who expect more miles ahead:

  • Complimentary luggage repairs extend from 5 years to 10 years
  • Replacement protection increases from one to up to two suitcase replacements within the same 10-year period 

If you travel frequently or want a longer window of complimentary support, Away LifetimeCare Pro offers added peace-of-mind for the journeys ahead.

Can I purchase LifetimeCare™ Pro after I receive my suitcase?

Away LifetimeCare Pro can be added at the time of purchase on awaytravel.com or in one of our 17 stores across the US, Canada, and the UK.

 

After purchase it can be added within 100 days via our product registration link here.

Do I need to register my suitcase?

We recommend registering your suitcase to make future support faster and easier. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here.

 

If your suitcase isn’t registered, Away LifetimeCare Coverage is still available as long as you’re able to provide a valid proof of purchase.

How do I submit a claim?

Simply submit a request through our Claims Center.

 

We’ll ask for a few details about your suitcase and what’s gone wrong so our specialists can determine the best repair path and guide you through the next steps.

Are bags and accessories covered under LifetimeCare™?

Bags and accessories are covered under a separate limited warranty. Learn more about that policy here. 

What if I purchased my suitcase before April 14, 2026?

Suitcases purchased before April 14, 2026 are covered under our limited lifetime warranty.
